HOME CARE SGB XI V § 37

(1) Insured people who live in their own household or family, receive apart from
the medical treatment, home care by suitable nurses if treatment in hospital
is offered, but not possible to be carried out or if it can be reduced by home
care. The home care consists of in single cases necessary basic care,
treatments and household tasks. You are intitled up to 4 weeks of home care
for each sickness. In explained exceptions the health insurance can allow the
home care for longer periods if the medical service (§275) says it is needed
for in sentence 1 mentioned reasons.

(2) Insured people receive in their own household or family as home care
treatments if it is necessary to secure the goal of the medical treatment, the
entitlement consists of putting on/ taking off compression stockings from
compression grade 2, also in the cases if the need of help is stated with the
care level like in §§ 14 and 15 of the 11th book. The state can decide that
the health insurance additional to th treatments of sentence 1 also offers
basic care and household tasks from sentence 2. The services from
sentences 2 and 3 are not valid after developing dependence of care like
mentioned in the 11th book. Insured people who are not admitted
permanently to institutions like mentioned in § 71 paragraph 2 or 4 of the
11th book receive services like in sentence 1 to 4 also if their household
does no longer exist and a temporary stay in an institution or other suitable
accommodations is available for the realization of the treatments.

(3) The entitlement on home care exists only if a in the household living person
cannot care for the ill person in the necessary extent.

(4) If the health insurance cannot find a nurse or the reason was given not to do
so the insured person should receive the coasts for a self found nurse.

(5) Insured people who are over 18 years of age, give as additional payment
the in § 61 sentence 3 mentioned amount, limited for the first 28 days of
the claimed services of each year to the health insurance company.
